Inrit Along Jalan Dwi Warna Raya Demolished

Inrit or concrete covering water channel along Jalan Dwi Warna Raya, Kartini Urban Village, Sawah Besar, Central Jakarta was demolished as it covered the channel access.

The residents did build the inrit with concrete cement

Central Jakarta Mayor, Mangara Pardede stated if it is already demolished the water flow towards Ciliwung River would function normally and not get flooded anymore.

"The residents did build the inrit with concrete cement. If the water flow is smooth then there would be no flood as it is near by Dwiwarna water pump with capacity of 1,000 meter-cubics per second," he explained, Thursday (9/3).

Water Channel Cover on Jalan Kebantenan I Removed

According to him the dismantling will take time until November.

"Thank you for those residents who have supported the demolishment. If it runs normally, residents should hold communal work to clean the channel to prevent it clogged," he expressed.

Head of Central Jakarta Water Management, Herning Wahyuningsih stated, the normalization will keep being conducted. But currently there is one worship place there need to be coordinated first before the channel is demolished.

"We want all channels to be opened, so it's easy to be cleaned, for entering access we just need to install iron grill," he closed.
